From June 23 to 30, 2022, we were able to participate in the WUF 11 forum in Katowice.
The World Urban Forum (WUF) is a prestigious international conference organized by UN-Habitat for the development of cities and human settlements. It is the most important global event concerning municipal policy, transformation and development.

At the forum we presented our organization, explained what we do, how we help refugees, and why we decided to create it. Our main task was to explain that refugees not only need help for a short period, e.g. free lunch, clothes, but they also need help to adapt, learn Polish, write resumes, get a job, get education and so on, so they can live better and adapt more easily in a new country.

Also at the conference we treated people to traditional Ukrainian dumplings made by hand by Ukrainian women who work in our kitchen in Katowice. In this way, we were able to introduce Ukrainian food and culture to foreigners.

We were very pleased to meet people who are just as concerned about the situation in Ukraine as we are and to start cooperating with them. Also during all the days of the forum we heard a lot of words of support, interest in the situation in Ukraine, as well as interest in helping our organization, so that we could help as many Ukrainian refugees in Poland as possible.
